Wednesday 14th May the District played the first of 16 Shield matches to celebrate its 50th Anniversary. Although President Alan Brittain won on his rink, the District winning on two of the five rinks, the Match was lost to Townsend by 8 shots.

President Alan encouraged all affiliated Clubs to put forward players to support the very busy outdoor season's fixtures list.
